Tram trip around city of Christchurch New ZealandI have just returned from a very long overdue trip to New Zealand. It has actually been close to 15 years since I was last in my home country.

My sister and family have visited me in the States twice during that time, so it was certainly my turn to make the trip. The original plan was to make this trip at Christmas time when it is summer over there.

However, this did not work out, so I opted for May when the New Zealand weather hopefully would not be too cold. My sister had several weeks vacation in May, so it would work out well.

Of course there were a lot of changes around the city of Christchurch, which I originally left back in 1976. Lots of progress and new things to discover as well as old things to rediscover.

Chapter 8: You Were Created to Be God’s Temple.

God’s Temples tells the story of the Gospel message. This story begins with the illustration of a purple house. The color purple usually represents royalty.

We were created to be God’s temples and to be formed into mature sons and daughters of the King of kings.

In the last chapter of this story I gave a brief description of the first three illustrations found in the booklet “God’s Temples”. The last illustration we looked at has a dismal color – black. Remember that black represents the sin which entered the world and consequently has contaminated our lives.

Red represents the Blood of JesusHow thankful we are to God that there is an answer to this dilema.

The red house of course represents the Blood of Jesus that was shed for us. He stood in our position and took the punishment we deserved.

Chapter 7: The First Templos Vivientes Booklet Is Published

Templos de DiosThe first printing of booklet of the series Templos Vivientes (Living Temples) was published under the same name of Templos Vivientes. I really did not think it would become more than just the one booklet (a series was not yet been thought of).

My vision at the time was that this little booklet would be distributed in the villages of Mexico, especially in the area where I had been working. It was full of illustrations to make it easier for parents to read the story to their children.

Chapter 6: The Vision Grows

Have you ever been at a place in your life where you just knew you were meant to be in a certain place? After the first several months in Cuernavaca it was time to return to New Zealand to visit my family and friends. I had been away for 2 yrs already.

During my stay in New Zealand, Anna Lee’s husband died (Anna Lee Carlton is the founder of the magazine, Bread For Children, that I was working with) and this created a need for help at the head office in Florida. I was asked to return to Florida for a time, rather than to Cuernavaca. However I had received a very strong impression during my time at home, that was to go to McAllen Texas.

Florida
I returned to Florida where Anna Lee assured me that as soon as it was possible, she would release me to go to McAllen where I could also be supportive to the work of the magazine since McAllen is a city on the border of Mexico.

Chapter 5: The Parable of the Sower – The Key To All Parables
The parable of the sower is my favorite parable of all the graphic story illustrations that Jesus used in His teachings. I have taught from this parable many times across the years, and even did a series once (in spanish), from which a set of cassettes were made.

An Almost Hidden Key
This parable became my favorite the day I discovered an almost hidden little secret that actually sheds light on all of the parables that Jesus taught in the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). When Jesus had finished telling the story of the Sower who sowed his seed on four different types of soil, the disciples took Him aside to ask Him what it meant.
