Don’t Lose Your Identity

Yesterday I shared some of my experiences with threats of stolen identity. This is a very real problem in today’s world with so much ease of communication, and especially with the automated kind.

But there is another way our identity can be stolen, one which perhaps we are not as aware of.

First, here is a question:

Are you really able to be YOU all the time?
Mm that is an interesting question no?

Well let’s think about it for a second. If you are not able to be yourself at all times, then there are sections of your life where your identity is being stolen.

When we try to behave in a way outside of our personality just to please another person, then we are not being ourselves. When we realize we are doing this it is good to stop and ask ourselves some questions:

** Why am I acting this way?
** What do I hope to achieve?
** Am I afraid of upsetting this person if they really see who I am?

So what causes us to act as if we were someone we are not?

  1. We Are Afraid of Displeasing a person
  2. Don’t let anyone get to know and like or dislike an image or fantasy of you. Sooner or later they WILL see who you really are, and then there will be problems.

Let them see the real YOU right from the start, Then your relationships will be so much more relaxed.

  3. Sometimes we want someone to like us for ulterior motives.
  4. Well I hope that is not you. Don’t forget that everything we do in life, sooner or later will come back.

There is a very real truth found in the Bible: What you sow you reap. (Some call it Karma). Call it what you will, but it works!

  5. Fear of not being accepted.
  6. We really covered this in the first point at least to a degree. However if we are afraid of not being accepted then there is a problem with rejection and insecurity that we need to address.

These subjects are quite extensive, and outside the scope of this blog.

However please check my Motivational Blog (The Biz Champs) and also watch the list of links on the side here, for a new blog to be launched soon” “Successful Relationships Blog”. (See the Title “My Other Blogs”)

As soon as you see it listed, check that one out also. The subjects of insecurity and rejection will definitely be explored over there.

Meanwhile, please take care of your identity.

    Yuli
