This poem inspired by the "Night Before Christmas" was written by an unknown author. Do take a few minutes from your busy schedule to stop and read this and think about why we are celebrating this special season. Above all, let us remember the greatest gift of all. Twas' the night Jesus came and all through the house, Not a person was praying, not one in the house. The Bible was left on the shelf without care, for no one thought Jesus would ever come there.

Born To Win Or Born In Sin?

"The bible says we where born in sin and far from God, I do not recall ever reading a scripture that says ‘We are born to win’. We are not saved through training, we are saved by grace", commented a recent visitor to this blog.

I appreciate such comments very much, because they cause me to do some more research. This is always a good way to strengthen your faith and to REALLY know what you believe.

In this season of Christmas the focus is usually on the celebration of one miracle, the birth of Christ.

Of course this miracle in itself is more than enough reason for all the world to celebrate.

But inside the story of this wondrous event there is a second miracle which is like a hidden treasure.

If you have ever wondered whether Christians can have a negative mindset, the truth is that you can have anything you want. When you surrendered your life to Christ you did not cease to have a free will. God created you to become His child, not a puppet. Throughout the Bible you will find God referring to His people as "His children". Remember the Gospel of John 1:12 ...

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

God’s Champions – The Action Takers

True champions are action takers. God's servants are God's champions. They are action takers. One of the traps I have noticed happen a lot in the lives of so many christians is the trap of passivity.
