I am free to live in abundance

A question I found on a recent post on this blog Christians and the Prosperity Gospel reads as follows:

Do you not think the bible talks more about God’s will and purpose rather than ‘your purpose’? (This is a portion of the comment – in the next post I will answer the rest of this comment).

To respond to this question, the first thing we need to understand is that there is no real separation between God’s purpose and your true purpose in life. Your purpose is a part of His

You were born with the seed of destiny in your heart.

This seed of destiny is your purpose in life.

Wad of NotesThere is much confusion and controversy in some parts of Christendom concerning what is often referred to as the “Prosperity Gospel” and today let’s face this head on!

First of all, let me clarify one thing.

There is no such thing as a “Prosperity Gospel” – there is only ONE Gospel and that is summed up in John 3:16.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever should believe in HIM will not perish but have everlasting life.

Before continuing, let us check out that word “believe”. This is not a passive verb, but an active one. The devils also believe (passively) in God but they are trembling and perishing. So passive belief is not enough.

The word “believe” found in John 3:16, carries the meaning of “to entrust to, to commit” in the original Greek language. We could sum it up saying that it means to actively commit your life to Christ and trusting Him with it.

Jesus promises abundance:

Now in the 10th Chapter of the Gospel of John, Jesus Himself made a declaration which can only be interpreted in one way.

2011 JanuaryHere is a question for you: What have you done during the month of January towards achieving your goals and dreams for this year?

Guess what?
If you have not started to take action yet, when will you? Right now? I hope so!

Think about this for a moment:
What will it feel like to arrive at December 2011 with the satisfaction of knowing that you DID take action and now you CAN see your goals and dreams starting to come true. (Perhaps some have already come true).

That would be a great way to end a year right?

Well this CAN happen to you IF you take action today.

Feet WalkingOne of my “Mexican parents” who is now waiting for us in heaven. Gertrudes Pohlenz would often be heard saying: “La fe tiene pies” (Faith has feet).

What does this actually mean? There is a verse in the Bible that puts this in another way. You can find it in James 2:20, where the apostle James is found saying: “Faith without works is dead”.

In the first chapter of this same Epistle he is found exhorting his readers to “become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

In other words, faith that is not expressed with actions is not real faith. In fact it is simply mental assent and the devil himself has that (even the demons believe and shudder – James 2:19).

You were born with the seed of your destiny in your heart AND with the potential capacity and ability to achieve your destiny. But it will not happen automatically.

Olympic Gold MedalGail Dever is an Olympic Gold Medalist who won two gold medals in the 100 in the summer of 2004. However the hurdles were her strongest event, and she was intent on winning another gold in this event.

Her battle with a thyroid problem overtook her during this event and she was taken to hospital with her hopes shattered.

Many of us would consider this a defeat and we may even call this situation an experience shattered hopes. But not Gail. Instead of allowing disappointment and discouragement to overtake her, this is what she said:
